SHERGAR CUP DAY

Yesterday was a good day for bookmaking but a disaster for anyone travelling to meetings in the south. The M25 was chaos after an accident between Junction 4 & 5. Some drivers were stranded at Clackett Lane Services for up to 14 hours. A few horses never made it to Lingfield nor did some of the Tote staff. Consequently all the back roads to Lingfield were moving at a snails pace as racegoers tried to find a way through. Hopefully all is back to its normal pace (slow) on M25 to-day.
It's Shergar Cup day to-day at Ascot. This meeting features jockeys from all over the world racing in a knockout cup. Its more about the jockey than about the horse to-day so is not a favourite meeting with the punters as they try & run similar level horses against each other so hard to find a winner.
Yesterdays Bismarck was spot on the even priced favourite was beaten. To-days Bismarck is Don't Forget Faith in the 3.25 at Newmarket.
To-morrow I am having a well deserved day off. It is my son Joseph's birthday & he is having a party. I thought my partying days were over but Marian says there is plenty of life left in me!
Have a good weekend & I will be back on Monday with the Bismarck.
